Biography

In 1983 Relic discovered hiphop exsisted and has been into it ever since. Shorlty afterwards he got into DJ'ing and writing rhymes and the studio always had its allure.Assuming the name CMF he first began with a group called The Queen City Brew Crew a group that dedicated itself to partying and wild antics at shows and battles.

RIP was formed in 1988. R.I.P at that time was Rough Intelligent Posse which comprised many MC's from different high schools that would battle frequently (during lunch and what not) :) .By 1990 Relic had assumed the name Relic and had teamed up with DJ Chuck Swift and R.I.P became Rough Intelligent Poets and had takin a more pro-black radical stance on issues and in they're lyrics.
DJ Trouble from Plainfeild NJ was added in 1992 giving the crew more of an "up the way" feel. That same year Relic was picked Creative Loafing's "Best of" MC for Charlotte.
R.I.P continued to perform with different artists until 1997 when Relic stepped back from rapping and got more solidly into beat making.

That same year R.I.P linked up with a group called P.I.C. and met Step Child.
After recording with them and "beat pooling" with other companies in and around Charlotte; Step Child left P.I.C to become a solo artist.
In 2003 the crew got their own studio and started work on Step Childs first LP Child Abuse.

Relic has been working with many different artists throughout the years and working on his recording skills.Now that he has crawled out of the studio to breathe some air he spends most of his time on Illmuzik or recording... Which doesnt really provide for much air actually... :)
