I need some help ya''ll. I'm using an MPC-1000,
I wonder why we say "an" MPC instead of "a" MPC seeing how m is not a vowel, anyway,
I'm using my MPC to chop a certain ray charles sample. I'm in the trim window and I got to extract to new and I get an insufficient memory error.
WTF?!? These flash cards are huge. I still have 10MB free!! What's going on ya'll and how do I free up more space. I remember reading about purging the unused samples, or removing programs not used. Am I on the right track?

if the sample is really long it will say that if you are trying to copy it, because it dosnt have enough space to duplicate the sound

The entire sample itself is already saved on the CF. What I'm doing now is just chopping a piece of that sample. Only from 80.000 to 110.000. It's a very small portion. Out

Tim hit it on the head, basically it doesn't matter if its saved on the card or not, basically say you have 16 MB of memory.......you load about 3 or 4 mb of drums first from your program.....you have aroun 12mb of memory open, left to load more sounds.......if that sound on your card is say 13 mb or something you do not have enough free memory to load the sound into memory.....thats what happens, you need to either do your chopping first then save to card......then load your drums or program......then you should have enough memory to load that small chopped off piece along with the drums so you can make your beat....

Good lookin out ya'll. I appreciate the help. A RAM upgrade would solve some of this problem I guess huh?
