View Full Version : strip song of vocals and make instrumental
:headbang: I have a hot song that i did a few months back and i wanted to use it for the next beat competition. The beat is on CD and in wav format. the only problem is im rhyming on it and i wanted to make it an instrumental. I wanted to know if any one knew what software i needed and how to go about this process......experts holla back, thanks:headbang:
No, that's not possible. Since it's in 2-track mixdown format (.wav) it can't be taken out. You don't have the instrumental at all?
Besides, we haven't decided yet what the theme for the next comp will be, so your beat would have to match the theme.
well i will try to get it from my source even though he's slowly falling out of the game....hopefully one of my few beats fits the theme of the new contest......any official date yet?
We're working on it.... It's usually every month, so in a few weeks.

here's some info about vocal removal with cool edit, although as far as i can tell it never works all that well.

a stupid question... how could nasir jones make the instrumentals in the audio section? Another stupid question: is it possible, having the instrumentals and the song, "subtract" the waveforms and get the acapellas?
