Ive looked and looked and listened and looked, :microwave but,
no luck, and maybe its just me. But what is it about the SOUND of the MPC that makes it BANG....and can it be acheived through software or do I have to face the facts that it cant.
Perhaps, an Acoustic Mirror Plugin can capture that sound...maybe not. Whatever the case can someone experienced with this topic help me.

I thinks its quality..software is not your problem...your computer and sample rates are..
if you had a audigy 2 that process 24 bits and can have more then 128mb of sound recording and output...you damn near have the ability of mpc or better
same thing with the delta 44 soundcard
If you wanna emulate the mpc get Native Instruments "Battery" and get a wave editor like recycle or something ...there you have.
and learn all your mastering plugins

Its funny cuz a guy I know, he has an MPC and he's always hatin on me for using computer software.
Talkin 'bout how I need 'real' equipment.
I showed him one of my recent beats and he was like
"Damn son, that kick is hittin...How'd you do that?"
I guess he should learn a few things about his little MPC......fag. lol.

Well my current setup is this: .
M-Audio Delta 44 Soundcard, Windows XP, running on an AMD Athlon 900 MHZ 768mb Ram 3 WD Hard Drives Nvidia Vanta AGP Video Card and a CD Burner.
I record at 96khz and use FLStudio 4.1 for music and Cubase SX for multi-tracking.
Making the hot tracks is no problem.
The thing Im baffled with is that "BIG WARM SOUND" that you get from the MPC.
Ive used mpc samples before in FLStudio and and it sounds like an MPC...
But my question was, Is it possible to get the BIG SOUND of the MPC without the need for an MPC?
Or Do I just have to settle with using MPC Sounds from the get go?

they have plugins that will give that warm sound of a mpc. i used to do all kinds of trick like mix down to a vcr and then back in to my recorder or us a tube pre amp. its all on you.

Sounds like people are still brainwashed by akai. Anybody who says they can tell a beat made on a MPC vs a Computer is either deaf or brainwashed. You cant tell, the MPC does not produce sounds. What you load in is what comes out. Once you're done mixing and mastering a track the beat sounds 50 times better anyways. So what does it matter what it sounds like when something comes raw right from a device? Nobody makes a beat then leaves it how it is, it will sound like shit the levels will be all off. There is no "Warm sound" i heard from my mpc. All of that comes when you mix and master the track how you like.

thank you BeatOff. I´ve been waitin for someone to point that out.
Equalizers, Delay, Reverb, Compressors etc. are actually the tools that can give your sound warmth and depth.

mh, but there are stsill some producers, who don't even work with the MPC, 'cause they don'T like it, but put samples through it, to get a more powerfull sound... you'll never know....

A idiot is a person who does stupid things, judging other people because of their production technique is stupid....
That's like saying you are a idiot because you produce with fruity or whatever....

Thanks for telling me what I already know. You cant do anything more stupid than to "Run your drums through an mpc" LOL. Who would actually think thats doing something? Who would buy an mpc just to load drums into it? then what? You load your drums then play them in cool edit or something and turn off the mpc then load it back into whatever they are working on? Can you say waste of 1200$ and idiots. First of all the MPC is not some magic box that makes sounds.
I've said this 1000 times i used to have a 2000XL up until a few weeks ago. It does not make drums sound more "Punchy or warm or grimey" like some people think. Anybody who hates the mpc but buys one or uses one to put drums into it then re save them and take them out is a idiot. Dont compare it to using FL because it makes no sense to. Its a production technique i guess but so would Praying to a SP12 then spraying holy water all over your equiptment and wondering why it doesnt work anymore.
