you have to set the polophony to 1 on the FL slicer then the pads will cut each other of, on a MPC you can get way more complex with the mute grops, but this is decent enough

damn that video just killed everything i live when videos are like that i don't like when people are explaining everything i just want to watch them make a beat, then you can just vibe off of them, and that turntable was crucial he was goin off, with that dj-qberts table, and those samples was ill to, come on people i need more this was way better than the heatmakers vid way better

JB is a beast, when he played the samples i woz like ok and then he just drums that out on the MPC i woz like wow ok !
his drums thing woz mad as well does anyone else do that where you have pre-made breaks like that you just sort through to find one that fits ? i've never thought of doing that but it makes sense !
hes nice on the decks too got me thinking maybe i should put my scratching on my beats !
WOW...see how a hard drive helps(cant wait for the 1K HD kit to come out). Dude had drum breaks on the fly. he a scratchin mofo :).

Damn! Blaze is the man! Look at how easily he banged out that beat. No real stress, no drum tweaking, he Just Blazed! (Pun intended) LOL! He just used the loops he already had on file and found the one that fit. His scratchin' needs some work though but it's cool for what he does. After rockin' with Qbert on the QFO in Frankfurt nobody can fade that memory! Everybody else is just mediocre.

all i can say is wow. i wish i could rock it like that. it would take me like 3 days to even make soemthing even thinking of being that dope.
that video just made me decide to definitly get the trigger finger as my next peice of equip
but that also reminds me of when i first started making beats. id bang beats out in 5-10 mins. they usually sucked however the creativity was at a much higher level than its at now.

Yeah that was some heat for that a$$... Me and my producer was sitting here watching it.. it was pretty hot... We don't do too much sampling unless somebody request but when it's done right you get some serious art work... Plus it's getting pretty expensive to sample now-a-days...
But anyway yeah that trigger figger is an alright piece of equipment for guys who just need a controller to FEEL what they're banging out... Good look on the video!

i just started using a keyboard and it makes it much easier to casually come up with melodies so i can imagine just being able to tap the pads will gimme a good new way of coming up with shit

its not expensive to sample unless you don't have a sampler, just go out and buy records and records are cheap to

i think he meant clearing samples, not actually making sample based beats

^^^^ Thanks for clearing that up for me^^^^
x-squizet... I don't know if you sell tracks or not but alot of the indie labels don't have the budget to clear samples, hell most of them barely have the budget to purchase beats and/or pay producer fees. That's the only reason I said that really... i deal with quite a few catz in Houston... the wanna be a rapper syndrome is like a plague down here...
but anyway....Just something to be aware of unless you just make beats for fun

Yeah cats are starting to look way to far into this sample clearace business. For most indie labels you don't need to worry about clearing samples unless you are pusing for big nationwide releases. ALso if your on a small lable trying to contact the artist and set something up can put you in a better postition. Don't let people scare you into saying sampleing is expensive when you are on the bottom on the chain. Most of us are too far under the radar to even get noticed.
