View Full Version : Help with Cubase SX Installation

After I installed Cubase SX, I tried to open the program and it keeps giving me and error message stating

" An error has been signaled by the Protected Object Sever.

--> Application Cubase SX has caused the error.
--> No PROTECTION DEVICE connected.

Connect device and click OK to retry.
Click Cancel to abort "

Now wat I want to know is why is it givin me that problem :confused: :headbang: and it wat is a protection device and how should I get passed this error message to use the program.

Thanx in advance to anyone who can help me.

you need the usb hardware key... I guess you didn't buy this software....

B4 more people come tell me I don't have the USB key...I also got this error message that I didn't show in the screenshot...it's a Win XP error message.

I'm on a mac, a get this kind of message when I don't plug my key.

weird. try to reinstall the usb device or try a different usb slot.
the best thing is probably to ask steinberg. they should know their products ...

That's weird...I didn't pay for my program and my cubase works just fine

can i ask? will cubase sx work on win98s sec edition, if not which version will?

Cubase 5.1 will work in the older versions of Windows.
