I have no background with synths, but I do kno how to use reason for the most part. I just want to kno if anybody has any tips on how I could EMULATE the whistle sound he uses..
If anybody has a patch that sounds like the whistle, it could help.. But I really wanna understand how that sound is made.. Etc..

Try the "JUICER" for the subtractor. Just play around with the settings

Usually any square wav will sound dope for that....Then set the polyphony to 1. Try using higher octaves to get that ringing sound. Think of polyphony as how many keys can be pressed and sounded at the same time - hence why they call them "voices". So when u set it to 1 and then u play a tune on yer keyboard there tends to be this continuous/whistling effect when you play the notes closely together....thats where that gangster whistle comes from.

Oh i forgot to mention that those instructions were for the subtractor....however, you could do tha same thing in the malstrom....i just like the sub better for that whistle sound.
good luck. :)
