I don't use the Triton myself but maybe these threads will help:

i myself went with a yamaha motif rack...... it really is a great machine. is a full featured sampler a necessety for you? if not i would seriously wiegh the two against each other, as well as the emu proteus modules. the motif rack is about $500 cheaper than the triton rack, but it lacks a sampler. the proteus 2000 is about $1000 cheaper at $600........ the sounds arent quite up to par with the other two, but they are more than adequate, because as with any synth, to get the most out of it, you must begin to tweak your own sounds... anyhow.......... just dont settle for someones opinion/suggestion, but go out and check them out for yourself, because only you will know what appeals to you and the musical direction you are heading in.
