I was wondering if someone could tell me if it is possible to setup a channel in Acid to receive MIDI from Fruity Loops. I was not sure if you could setup MIDI between two compatible software programs. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Hey,
Yes, you can do this provided that your soundcard has multi-client drivers which will allow two programs to have access to the card.
You'll need something called a virtual MIDI cable, there are only a few out there so it shouldn't be too hard to decide which one to use.
Basically these virtual MIDI cables allow you to send MIDI data from one program across the cable into another. In your case, you would route the transmitting MIDI from FL to a virtual cable input, then route that cable's output to an Acid track.
Here are two which I've worked with, they both have done the job fine, my personal preference is MIDI Yoke because it works under XP/2000 and some of the other stuff the company makes is amazing...
MIDI Yoke:

Hey,
You're welcome. I've never actually tried this, but in theory it should work. We used to use MIDI Yoke to MTC sync Cool Edit and Vegas together and it worked fine; sometimes though things crash or behave erratically when both programs are fighting to control the soundcard. If worse comes to worse, you should be able to export your sequence from FL as a MIDI file and import it into Acid.
Take care,
Nick
