for pro tools 8, im tryn to get either structure, transfuser or kontakt 3 this month, which one would ya'll recommend? i kno there not the same, structure and kontakt bein similar(heard NI doesnt work well with PT?) but structure bein less powerful and less samples for more money... heard transfuser dope, but can someone explain what it does a lil bit for me?

Transfuser is awesome as a groove box, sample tool it rocks. But it is not a sampler. If I was %100 on pro tools I would probably go Structure. Kontakt 3 works fine in PT. I do own all three so if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

is transfuser like boom.. except you can put samples in it? boom would be pretty cool if u could load your own samples into it

I personally only own Kontakt and i like it. It has features up the ass and comes with great samples out of the box.

No not even close. You could make a full track in Transfuser. see the video, it rocks!

how much processing power does kontakt hog with pt8 tho? cuz i've heard it can cause freezing and drop offs. I'm on a mac, 2.16 ghz with 1.5 gig ram

Transfuser is off da chain. Ideal for PT8. It doesn't use much processing power and the configurations and tweaking is somewhat limitless.
