to be honest I only know half the story on this one, because it is supposedly such a HUGE upgrade they are being tight lipped about it.

From what I can gather it is probably an upgrade to the entire line, and maybe something more like symphony and MAYBE PT9 but I am guessing on a bit of that.

EDIT

There has been a bit of controversy around this so it may get pushed back a few days. IDK yet. Stay tuned.

I always assumed updates were to fix dodgy rushed software, and that they were always free. Am I wrong then?

Its only if you have the HD system and since most of us are home studios rockin LE this is not as exciting .

Dear Ahole aka Dream Police,

As you may recall in Feb of 2010 we had lengthy discussions on my upgrading my previous studio setup. After lengthy debating I upgraded even further than where you were trying to get me to. As I recall an HD system was never mentioned, you may also further recall the nightmare senario in which the pc you reccomended was purchased and then became not available after much heartbreak and shouting on my end, all the while having to endure your constant pushing of a stripped down mac that was waaay outside the budget.
Although you afterwards have been of priceless help in setting up the system since, (despite not removing the 8.0.3 drivers as I had mentioned was neccessary causing an entire recording session to go south and resulting in personal panic, I did learn how to do that myself) I do not recall any discussions on an HD system or the benifits there of during the initial consultation thus your suggestion of a further upgrade after much money, sweat and tears have been shed mere months after the purchase of a major upgrade and mere days after stablization rings as rather confusing to me.
