ITS REALLY FUCKED UP HOW YOU HAVE TO BUT YES IT CAN BE DONE. SEE YOU HAVE TO DO IT BY THE DIGITAL OUTS AND CAN ONLY SEND TWO TRACKS AT A TIME. . . EDITING TAKES SOME TIME CUZ OF THE LITTLE DISPLAY , BUT I TELL YOU THIS, THAT LITTLE MACHINE IS SLICK AS HELL LEARN IT AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS. WHAT YOU LOOKING TO BUY ONE? LET ME KNOW.

it's funny though I use to own the original VS880...and a third party software called Polar created this software which handled the transmission of audio from the VS to the computer....and edit the wave files in the PC (such as soundforge/cooledit ) rather doing it in the VS. Then you can save it as a wave file and dump it back in the VS using SCSI. Now that I own the VS1680 the company folded (Polar) so now Im looking for something simalr. In fact I still have this software in hand if any one needs it. It's a free software.
I have not really tried the digi out dig in...but it should work? dump it to one of my editors to edit and then dump it back to my VS?
thanks
