I don't know if you guys know of a rap group called Little Brother. Anyway, their producer, 9th Wonder, used Fruityloops to produce their entire album. Fruityloops will be doing an editorial on him on their website. 9th also produced Jay-z's track, The Threat, off is new Black album using Fruityloops. It felt reassuring to hear someone in the industry using this bangin software. Now I gotta make it happen.

The thing is Fruity loops is the equivalent to old school hardware sequencers, I heard some say that the swing was a problem....it has such a good editor in the piano roll view that's not a problem either....this to me besides cubase is probably the best software editor I have used to do my quantizing and manual editing....it appears to have everything that you could ask for to make very good tracks and it is only limited by your imagination because with a good midi controller and your samples you can do everything and more than on a piece of hardware....including the akai family....from what I can tell...I did have and mpc for a few years and if you have all of the right pluginz such as waves with fruity loops you can make some really hot tracks...

you cant record vocals in FL, you can use a keyboard as a controllor and bang in your beats though, just hit record then hit play, and start playing

Another tip, if using fx over the fx chnl ( F9 ), do yourself a favor, select the reverb's, delays etc in the send tabs (at the end, comes after chnl 16 ). After placing the send vst, simply go to the chnl you want to make "wet" and turn clockwise on the 1st knob of 4 knob ( vertical ) on the chnl strip. It takes less cpu and blends better with anything else you want to bus through it.
on topic, there's very little you cant do with the program. When you get to know it, I can only suggest you buy a registered copy when seeing the light.

I know I'm gonna sound like a fool for askin,,,but,,,I create my bars in FL and then slap em together in soundforge. I wanna make a whole joint in FL, but not too familiar on this method. Any suggestions...I learn quick, so u dont have to go into specifics too much,,,One
what I do is I open the playlist and work from there.
I give every induvidual sound its own pattern and build the song in the playlist (the button with PL on it.)
don't forget to set the sequencer in song mode, left from the playbutton you got two orange leds, one with pat and one with song.
than just fill in the playlist and bust a new joint.

Why don't you make patterns, export each one to wav and then simply load those exported wav's back into a clean FL song on the correct bpm. "fuck" a few patterns up to add some diversity and make sure each pattern( wav ) you had exported is now placed in a sampler. goto playlist and start puzzling your track together.
Notes; (export window)mark the check boxes leave remainder or not, depending on what you want to do off course There's also an intem here that enables each track to be exported as a wav in one go. You might want to use this when the song is completed ( song-mode ) as it dithers he full song. After that I load the stripped song into cool edit ( pc/software) or logic (in the studio-output all to console/hardware)and mix/balance out the track.

aight check this cuz. on the sequencer you got two bars right. make your two bars and send them to the piano roll ( or jus start in the piano roll either way dont matter) then once you have one pattern and now you wan tto switch it up, go to the playlist editor and put in pattern one, then clone it (ctrl + shift + C) then that should copy pattern 1 into pattern 2, now all you have to do is go into pattern two and switch it up. nice and easy, you can make and intro, outro, dont matter, jus clone and switch, clone and switch...clockwork
holla
