i figured id post this here since it involves both hardware and software
ok ive got a song on my mpc 2000xl and ive plugged it into the computer and recorded the song in Wavelab.
when i listen to the recording from the computer, all my levels sound off.....esp my bassline which is seriously lacking in volume. in general, the song sounds more hollow than when i listen to it through the mpc.
any idea whats goin on here?
any help appreciated.
is the output of the computer connected to the input of the computer or not.
if it is, than maybe it is feedback.
maybe the mixer settings of the computer are not good.
don't know excactly.

1st of all do you have a way to monitor the input, also if so you can try a couple of things......track the song down 1 track at a time or if you have 8 outs make sur all of your levels are right....sometimes I get each track recorded as high as possible and then one I have the multitracks in the program what i do is adjust the levels and mix there, it sounds like you aren't optimizing th channels....its easier to dump one track at a time to monitor when you are having problems with punch and levels....you can also boost the db on the outputs....

check the plugs that u use it sounds like a phaze problem or you just sent the output of the mpc and not the mix levels.
