hooking a tapedeck into the mixer (cables etc')

whats up, i am trying to sample from a tapedeck right now but i am not sure how to hook it up to my mixer, like what kind of cables i need and whatnot. my tapedeck is very old and has no outputs whatsoever, it has two audio inputs thats about it. what i was thinking to do was getting a male headphone to RCA and hookin up the male into the headphone jack in my tapedeck and the RCA to my mixer, would this work? i don't wanna waste money on cables that won't work so im askin here, but thanks in advance.

Yeah that will work. I did the same thing with an old stereo I had laying around. Just hook the headphone jack into the stereo, and then hook the two rca's into the respective ports, and that will work fine.
