Here is my problem, I have a desktop (Pentium II 300mhz) In my Pci slot I have a 20bit Layla sound card and audio interface. I just bought a Labtop (Pentium 4 2.8 ghz) regular soundcard that came with machine.

My layla has asio drivers, my labtop doesn't
I'm running windows 98 on the desktop and Xp on the labtop.
Can I some how connect the 2 computers together and use the audio cards and drivers on the desktop on the labtop while they are connected?

And how would you use the 2 together if you had this setup?

Hey,

There may be a way...

http://echoaudio.com/Products/Laptop/index.php

This is a PCMCIA card which you can connect the 24-bit Layla interface to a laptop...you MAY be able to hook up the older 20-bit Layla interface, but I would at least ask Echo before running out to buy anything.

If the 20-bit Layla has an ADAT optical out, you could buy an ADAT Optical interface for your laptop and connect them with a light-pipe (optical cable).

Take care,

Nick

ive watched my gamer nerd friends link laptops with desktops, while playing games. use the network adaptor, link the 2. you have to set up the desktop , enable remote administration, then you can controll the desktop with the laptop..

you could even go wireless with the laptop
