thatīs what i heard too. thanks for your answer. i think itīs because dxi has to do with the registry, while vsti is just a dll file that needs to be in a certain directory, so that uninstalling vsti is easier while dxis leave traces. by the way, analogx.com got a good tool for getting dxi problems straightened out.

Hay wassup,

I also heard VSTi's work slightly better with FL. I think it depends. I've heard a lot of people have problems with the Battery DXi in FL. I have no problems with DXi's in Cubase.

Vst plugins have worked best for me but i've also run across Dx plugins that are ill to! there are converters that you can use that will allow you to switch between the two formats. this is handy for when your working in a program that only excepts one plugin format! I've been using this one and it has proved to be one of the most used tools in my studio for switching between formats.

do a search for this and you can get it for free! I'm not gonna give you a link because i wanna show this board respect! just search for this on google VST-DX Wrapper Lite

It depends on the program you're using. Dxi's are Direct X versions of virtual instruments. Sonar doesn't suport vsti's, or vst plugins; it uses direct x and dxi's. Programs like Cubase let you use both vsti's and dxi's. I know that vst plugins use less processor power, I don't know if it's the same for vsti's.

i think that vsti are more supported than dx instruments... for example, acid pro supports vsti but not dxi
