There's not "one specific" way 2 make your snares sound hip-hop. Its all about how u make the beat. You can make any sound, sound hip-hop if perfected. If you are a newbie I would suggest fruityloops, you gotta remember your making music "by the ear." Hip-hop is for creativity, find the best snares that work 4 u.

To me, snares are all about eq, and processing. It depends on the sound you're looking for (wet, dry, dirty, clean). Just like everyone else, I have "tricks" I use for my snares. Experiment and find your sound.

what you mean sound "hip hop" you can use anything and make it sound they way you want if you just take the time then any sound can be "hip hop", for me there is no one sound I can make them all sound good in a beat
