Akai out of business???

I should clarify that my source works at a Guitar Center, they are currently having a hard time getting new Akai stuff because nobody is selling it to them...what are everyone else's sources?

they're having distributing problems?that's horrible..they arguably make the best samplers on earth..hopefully they'll get things worked out.

Well all I can say is the price is going up on old or used mpc's.......hold on to your mpc......by the way anyone want to trade an mpc2000 or hot piece of gear for an Akai s950 in 100% working order and brand new floppy drive & new sounds????

Akai is not going out of business. They just parted ways with their US distributor and are undergoing some internal changes. Big changes with big things in the future. Akai is not hurting. They've relocated most their Texas office to pomona, CA and are 100% operational. If anything, the issues are 'growing pains'. They OWN much of the market right now so its a good time to revamp & streamline operations. Don't fret, Akai isn't going anywhere.
