so far ive found original samples used by de la soul. old school funk/disco is plentiful.

I finally got back home from school, so im gonna hit the record stores up this weekend, ill drop what i found, O yea i fuckin hate it when i find a sample that has been used, especially when I pretty much have the beat done and a friend walks down and says something like, O didnt so and so use that?

yea i kno wot you mean about finding something already used ! Once i found a bo hansson sample and it woz fuckin crazy one of those things where you just loop it and it sounds hot lol so i made the track did the research to check no had used it and turns out cormega used it ! gutted !
on a high note i flipped a sample of a really well know record its been used a million times before and once it woz a big hit but coz i used a different part of the track no1 knows !

Whats wrong with finding samples that have been used?

I wouldnt even bother flipping them.

I just find it interesting to find samples which have been used to make the albums i buy.

The Ten Commandments Soundtrack (2 LPs)
Time-Life's DVORAK: Great Men of Music (5 LPs)
Berlioz's Les Troyens (PHILIPS Denmark) (6 LPs, I'm not a big opera fan but it has some good orchestral samples still)
Ben-Hur (1 LP)
and four Byron Lee and the Dragonaires albums (good Soca music, love the album covers)

Overall a good batch today.

EDIT: I managed to get a copy Dr. Martin Luther King's A Knock at Midnight, 4 sermons/speeches on 2 LPs. What a find!.

I have also done this and gotten some pretty good stuff there. Not bad for 9 bones a month. Anyone out there that's hesitant, signup for the trial for 14 days, and quit at that time if you don't like it. I still like diggin' though, but with low funds it ain't half bad.

Earlier today, me and my pops went over one of his friends house, he wanted to show us around the place. When we get to the basement, I spot like three boxes of records, alot of jazz, soul, funk and a few rock albums. Jokingly, I ask if I could have them joint and he said YES!!! I just got like 250+ records on the spot, no charge. I'm going through these right now!! Just goes to show you what can happen if you roll with ya pops for the day.

Nomics, I think I got you beat on this find. LOL!

got this london symphony orchestra record called rock symphonys fucking excellent, and a record sounds of kantele which is pure gold (all solo instrument stuff played by some virtuso). an italian percussion record (that's what it is called) and best of trio los paraquayos which is very cool if you're into beatnuts/alchemist type mexican/spanish samples
