ok to fully understand you have to go here and listen to any of these songs in hi-fi if you can http://www.soundclick.com/bands/9/pto.htm
now that you've done that i wanna ask how do you get your music really crisp with no hiss and whinning i use cool edit pro 2.0 and use the hiss and noise reduction that comes with it but the songs still have that whinning in them. I was wondering does it have something to do with my soundcard and if so which one should I get, and any other tips you have for recording crisp music would be appreciated.

it depends it could be your card, but cool edit is pretty good...I bet its your card.....invest in an audigy

I don't want to be an ass but invest in a good audio card not on a audigy (good for games and stuff but not really pro level stuff).

I would say a better program...Try cubase.......and if you add certain things to your tracks then it might not be noticealbe like on the freestlye a type of beat like that you need 808's in it

it might be your cord. is it spdif, 1/4", or a mini...try using a noise gate...to get my stuff crisp, I separate each track in my multitrack program, use different panning parameters, make sure that the levels are correct, use different methods of compression for each instrument, and sample, add effects where needed, render it, and master it. Maybe add a hint of eq.
if it isnt your card (i use audigy platinum- love it), use your ear, and experiment.

you might also try a noise gate to remove any unwanted noise your tracks

nah you're cool -- if you do forget to mention something in a post -- just edit and add it -- or wait and post after someone else
