Just trying to understand something new. What does the swing do on the MPC I realize that it changes the time signature for the quantize. But what does it do to the beat. Someone told me it was to get you hih hat to hit repeated but the 4000 and the 1000 has the note repeat. Let me know maybe it will help my production.?!

damn man .... i own a 4000 and you dont know what swing is??? lol haha..... an easy way of looking at it is swing adjusts the space in between your notes

just record some drums with 50% swing then rerecord the same pattern with it all the way to 75% and you will hear the diffrence... just experiment

"Swing" wether MPC or Software is key in many tracks. Especially East Coast or Underground style. Its very heavy on most Premo tracks. Drumwise anyways.

swing takes the two and the four notes and move them closer to the one and the three. If you rock 66%, it's like jazz. instead of 1---2---3---4--- it's 1--2----3--4----.
The two and four are riding on the one and the three's ass...
