Protools conversion

Hey what's up,
I have gathered quite a collection of "home-made beats" and showed them to a few artists and producers interested in using them. However alot of them ask me if they are tracked in Protools. is it easy to just convert each sound individually to track into Protools or is there much more to it?

I use ProTools, not regularly, just to mix down songs. However, I'm not sure what you mean. Why do they ask you if your beats are "tracked" in ProTools? What program do you use? Etc

You can just extract each track (bass, snare, kick) in .wav and load them into ProTools, or take each individual instrument and arrange it again in ProTools...

Ya ok that's what i thought, so its no big deal what program i use (reason, nuendo, acid) if engineers and studio producers wanna use protools to track each .wav its fine?

Hey,

Waht they mean is:

"Did you record, edit and mix your song in PT?"

What they want iS for you to bring them the Pro Tools session including your audio files so that they can mess with it some more. In order for you to do so, you will have to import the audio files that you already recorded into Pro Tools, do the edits again, then save the session.

Yes, this means that you will have to get Pro Tools on your machine...good luck!

ok, no problem i usually create my skelton beat b4 actually piecing together a complete track so to do it in pt should not be a prob. thanks

what vitaminman says is true -- if you didn't track it in pro tools, then you can just save each individual track into wav or aiff format -- that way you can load it into pro tools -- but you have to redo all the mixing and what not
