If you have a Mac and are looking for a professional USB audio interface, the Apogee Quartet is the way to go. This device has 4 inputs, 8 outputs, 4 mic preamps, and their industry-leading AD/DA conversion technology.
You can connect up to 4 microphones, instruments, keyboards, or line inputs, plus you can also connect your MIDI controller/keyboard. You can monitor and mix with up to 3 sets of speakers or in 5.1 surround sound.
What's nice about the Quartet is that Apogee made it simple. Just looking at it, it's a beautiful design, and the big controller knob looks super smooth. They've also done a good job at integrating it into some of their other products, such as the Apogee Ensemble and the Duet 2. With Ensemble, you can use the premium analog inputs and preamps of both devices at the same time. For those with Duet 2, by adding Quartet, you will easily get a combined 6 analog inputs and 12 analog outputs!
