Here's what I got so far. Not sold on a few things and know @Fade is gonna talk shit bout the fake horn lol but here it is.
Iove the sample filtering on this. inspiring indeed..bb..
@NONONSENSEBEATS Nice, mellow, warm...wait to hear it finished. I like the horn..Check out mine..I had fun with this one.
@NONONSENSEBEATS That is one smooth flip, and I dig the horns on this one. Can't wait to hear the final draft. Drums are good. Bass is good also...
@crosstevsky Your flip reminds me of a video game level. I love the funkiness of it and I like how you flip it. I wasn't expecting to hear a flip like that. That's pretty ill...
I decided to focus more on the vocals side of the sample this time...
Thanks for feedback @Klypse Video game in a good way I hope I like that you decided to focus on the vocals, they sound nice...I never get to that section of a song, I always cut the first couple of bars, whatever is on there...Drums and bass sound like they need work, some kind of development.
Thought I'd give this one a go. Havent made a beat in about 5 years (even then I wasnt good) and Over the last month just getting back in to things. From learning maschine and everything I've forgotten this is basically the first thing I've exported. I know the mix is probablky awful, trying to do everything inside maschine and no speakers. Any feedback is appreciated.
@NONONSENSEBEATS Like how chill this one is mate.
@crosstevsky Wasnt expecting that from this sample! I like the way u messed with it.
@Klypse Nice one mate, I was trying to mess with the vocals too but couldnt really get anything I liked. Very smooth I liked how it changed up
Thanks...I will definitely post the finished product. I dug your beat it had a dope bouncy vibe to it. Like @Klypse said really was expecting this type of flip from that song...pleasently surprised.
Thanks for the feedback. I like how you chopped this up. I thought about using vocals. There is alot of potential in the vocals on this song. So nice flip bro.
Thanks for feedback. This is hard bro...I like it... that delay on the sax...brilliant. Mix sounds decent.
Thanks for the feedback. I like your beat. Its smooth simple and to the point. Good work.
Yoh, Im in...
Nice, i wanted to do something similar...the very first two hits...idk ...they are not necessary, and they are loud.
went for the vocals... kept it kinda simple... gonna give the other beats a listen in a min... hope the mix sounds ok... enjoy...
@NONONSENSEBEATS This is Dope!!! Very smooth... Horn sounds good! All the sounds blend really well together... Nice work.
@crosstevsky This one is funky! I though the kick might been a lil loud.. other than that everything sounds good... It does kinda remind me of a video game tho.
@Klypse Definitely like the idea of sampling the vocals... Not really digging the drums at the beginning, but that change up is dope! Nick work with the sample.
@Yodsanklai Very nice! Kept it simple, but this is very well put together... Great use of the sample! Haven't made a beat in 5 yrs... Could've fooled me!
@Cayenne Always like listening to your flips! I like the chops on this one, very smooth... Nice work as always!
A very well put together beat, has kind of deep philosophical vibe to it...with the vocals...sounds nice, maybe you can go without the background noise (vinyl crackling etc..)
Everybody did their thing for this flip/challenge. Here is my stab at it.
@crog85 Diggin that filtering a lot! smooth flip
@18thDynasty That's what I envisioned for this flip good ish!
Sampling is still new for me so I started with a chop and well..this came out..
@.calm I really appreciate the feedback because I am working to improve daily. Flipping samples is a very open ended process. We use the same source and create something totally different. I enjoy the chopping process and hearing how others piece together a puzzle in a sense.
Your usage of FX was dope for the beat you created. Keep on participating in the sample flipping challenges and you'll see some progress overtime.
