    Yup, I installed a 40gig on my 1000 n it works great. There are several approved harddrrives on the akai site but you can use any hard drive within a certain spec which i cant remember at the moment, itl prob b in the link above. If you need ne help with installing it just get at me.

    This is a program for unpacking the sounds in Reason http://www.speakersex.com/Refill_Viewer.zip ao you can use any of the sounds in Reason on your MPC. Hope that helps.
