Congrats
@TWU - This had a cool atmosphere and gritty feel. It feel a but more up-tempo and loud would've been more on theme, but still a great beat.
@Iron Keys -The stomps and claps were a great creative decision. I also really liked how the SFX fit in a rhythmic way. the guitar and vocal samples were great. This is a a very cool piece of music. It was between you and Dusty for me.
@K-waz - the vocal snippets were hilarious lol. I really liked the drum sound on this beat! I don't know how to explain it, but this has a Roots/Black Thought feel tone to it.
@Dusty B - As mentioned, I had a hard time deciding between this and Iron's beat. The heavy bluesy finish really made this for me. I like the use of crash cymbals to add that extra energy and "fight the power" vibe. I love that grass-roots, Bob Dylan, protest vibe this had.
@MalakaBeats - This had a ton of atmosphere. You went the way I originally thought I was going with more synth like sounds rather than samples. I think where the other beats stood out more; was the more frantic feel they had. Love that you jumped into a battle right away! Welcome again the The Ill!
@2GooD Productions - I think you went more
epic rather than
riot with the feel. The foley/SFX and vocal snips were great, but the intro may be a bit too long. Otherwise a really good beat.
@Armani - I really like how the crowd noise was used as a texture rather than just an SFX, almost like a vinyl crackly sample layered over top. This is a very cinematic, emotional, and epic sounding beat. Maybe more
epic than
riot. I immediately thought of the scene in Dark Knight Rises where Bruce Wayne climbs ut of the pit and the other prisoners are cheering him on.
@Bandia Gotach - This beat, and a lot of the stuff I've heard from you, does an amazing job of setting the tone and atmosphere right away. I'll have to pick your brain and study your tunes to figure out how you do that soo well. I really like the metallic/industrial sounds you used. The blend of synths, pianos, strings is also very well done! This beat scared the shit outta me lol.
@Leopard Cohen - The tribal, barrelling drums were a very unique and creative decision. Musically, this is really cool, more frantic, loud, and in your face would've been more on theme for me.
@MjRmiRRor - Similar to Bandia, you immediately set the tone. That ripping mono-bass is really dope. The panning on the hi-hats and SFX definitely helped to get that disorienting chaotic feel going. The major critique from me is the distorted guitar being out of tune from everything else. I know gritty, chaotic, and riot where the theme, but it just took me a bit much out of the beat.
Congrats

@PhazeLark - The front half of this beat was a bit to soft and mellow for the theme. The change around the 0:57 mark was way more on theme imo. There's some cool harmonies and layers going on, just didn't give "riot" vibes to me.
@PhxAzTracmaster - I get what you mean by "asylum elevator music" now lol. While others, myself included, tried to get that chaotic feel from either; samples, foley, SFX, you did it with melody and instruments. I've heard better from you - but I know you've been busy.
@V.J. Retro - This was on the shortlist for my vote. If, in Batman canon, there was a character who was an underground hip-hop icon - akin to Prodigy, this is the type of beat they'd rap on. Great atmosphere and vibe, would've liked it a bit more abrasive and in-your-face. Otherwise super dope!
@WHAT1000 - That intro line could've been the foundation for a really cool beat. The mix could use some work. That other line that comes in around 0:14 was a bit hard on my ears. Play around with dynamics and mix. The 808 glidey bass thing was cool though!
Appreciate the critique- very generous of you to do for everyone. obvs leaned a little too heavy into the theme. At first guitar part was put in tune. Wasn't visceral enough for what I was wanting. So, minor third, then passing chomatics- oh well. Irony. I was thinking Morello while making this. RATM says Riot for my generation. And then your peice- invokes them so well. Sincere thanks. Really love your work bTw
