Music & Marriage How do you manage?

I'm single but I would suggest to get your wife involved in the process. If she has a favorite song, show her how you would sample it or teach her a few tricks here and there. Who knows, you both might make a great beatmaking team. It happened to me with close friends. I became interested in...

    What gear is everybody rocking?

I'm currently using Cubase 12. It was my first DAW after I bought a Steinberg audio interface when I was out of college back in 2016. It was Cubase 9 at the time but I didn't like it a first because it relied on iLok to start. I had lots of issues with that and couldn't get into Cubase if iLok...

Let's talk about the Splice Problem

Damn. I hope that producer gets his bandcamp page back. As far as Distrokid and other sites, It's only a issue when uploading to YouTube but not if you're uploading music with samples to other websites like Spotify, Apple, Etc...

Production 5 Things Every Beatmaker Needs in Their Studio

That's cool. As long as it gets the job done, don't bother finding a new one. I'm a PC user myself. I thought about getting a MAC before I got my new PC desktop but this PC came at a good price compared to the MAC Desktops.

Let's talk about the Splice Problem

Oh I see. It's "refined" now but more likely that will change in the near future. I think other sites like CD Baby and TuneCore have the same requirements if not all of the distribution sites so it's not just a Distro thing.

Production 5 Things Every Beatmaker Needs in Their Studio

How long have you had your PC Fade and have you considered going for a MAC if your PC goes out?

Let's talk about the Splice Problem

You made an excellent point Fade. That's what's frustrating about sampling is all the legal stuff one has to go through to clear a sample. The main problem that the video highlights is the YouTube Content ID system. According to distrokid, where I distribute my music, they have a list of items...

Let's talk about the Splice Problem

Yeah. Drums and one shots are hardly an issue with content ID. Even if that happens, you can easily beat the case. I've heard that it has happen to one or two people that I follow on YouTube and they've counteracted and won. I'm also trying to make my own sample and melody kit as well. Luckily I...

Let's talk about the Splice Problem

I don't know if this video was posted on another thread here but I'm curious how other beatmakers approach this. Do you make your own samples or take the royalty free samples but manipulate them enough to make your own sound if you ever decide to post on YouTube?
