Rex loops

I just gave someone a beat that I made way back, and I just realized last night that back then I'd used a Rex loop for the percussion. I feel like an idiot... the guy insists that he doesn't want it changed, but I feel like I'm rippin someone off. What do you guys suggest I do?

Being an assistant/gofer for an artist or producer

so my friend is lookin to do low level work for a new york artist/producer. he's a dj interested in seeing the business up close, and has a large and comprehensive working knowledge of the rap industry. where should he go to find an artist who needs a gofer or low level assistant? thanks fam

Selling for cash

Have any of you ever just sold some beats for cash? If you don't care about the beats at all (even find them a bit embarrasing), would you just straight up sell them for cash to someone who wants them? I know you'd never do that for most shit, and you'd get a contract and an entertainment lawyer...

I don't know anything about making beats and I just spent/wasted 2 hours in Reason fucking around with drum beats... can't even imagine how fun it is once you know something... can't wait for school to be over so i can get to learn this stuff...

What software do you guys use? For recording I know most use Pro Tools or Cubase, but for laying down beats what do you guys use?
