Getting a dirty/old vinyl sound in Reason?

Is it necessary to do this when you already record from Vinyl?

    Lack of timestretch

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that I do have Recycle. It doesn't really timestretch as it just sequence the chops though. There are gaps in between that need to be filled... Don't have money for an MPC.

    Lack of timestretch

How do you all feel about Reason's lack of timestretch? I noticed in FL6 that it's so easy to get samples to fit the tempo. It's such a hassle to worry about in Reason. Maybe I should switch to FL...

    pHATmatiK pro

It's a chopper with the usual effects on it. It's just a different work flow, but it doesn't fit me. I tried it last week and wasn't feeling it. I still stick with the classic: Recycle + Reason's NNXT = Audio crack BTW I had the cracked version of phatpro :x

    reason w/ Adobe Audition 2

alright, not sure if I remember 100%. Set up the loop points around your song. Then click on solo on the mixer for one of the tracks. Now go to file and export loop as audio file. Do that for all the tracks you have. In audition multi track, just open up each track on seperate channels.

You can also solo your tracks in Reason and export each track to wav file and open them up in audition's multi-track.

    ReCycle Tips?

If you're chopping where ever the hell you want then leave bar at 1. You can change the tempo in Reason to fit how you play your chops. Sometimes I'll use the sensitivity if it's convenient. Most of the time I just go in and chop then click on the chop a couple times to hear if it's precise...

how u feel when u create your muzik?

Lately I've been making errie, sad kind of tracks so I tend to chop, pitch, and effect to reflect this mood. I also like the laid back chill kind of mood and I'll do accordingly. Sometimes I'll also leave the orginal mood of the sample intact. Lots you can do man.

    Written Drums

Nah not dumb man. It's a relevant question and I was in the same position as you before. I got into this with barely any knowledge of drums. You could chop at the drum hits and export a midi file then open it in your sequencer to add your own drums. Now you can see how they're sequenced. This...

    Sampling Hi Hats

I noticed that sometimes I sample breaks, the hi hats aren't loud enough even at max volume recording. I normalize it, but then it sounds bad. What should I do to make the hi hat chop louder and not sound too bad.

    MPD-16 or Oxygen 8

I'd get them both, but that's just me ;)

Is there something better then Recycle for chopping?

Are you changing the BPM too much? You could try the stretch knob, but I doubt it will help. Try another program that has timestretch feature.

chopping samples and playing/arranging them in REASON... best process??

So far I haven't needed to timestretch, but when the time arises that I need to I'd go with Live 5 or Acid.

chopping samples and playing/arranging them in REASON... best process??

I don't know.... Recycle isn't really all that. There's no timestretch and dumping the rex into Reason doesn't timestretch at all. It's a simple chopper which is what I like about it. But, I use Recycle to chop and then the NNXT to map the chops. I like the NNXT more than the DR Rex cause I can...
