InMusic buys Native Instruments

It will be interesting to see how NI products get folded into the InMusic catalog.

I imagine Komplete/Kontakt stays around in some fashion, but it’s hard to imagine Maschine sticking around as it’s a direct competitor to the MPC.

inMusic will acquire Native Instruments, as NI joins brands from Akai to Moog - CDM Create Digital Music

inMusic Brands, the US-based owner of Akai, Moog, Denon, Numark, Rane, and M-Audio, announced today that it will acquire Native Instruments. That puts NI tools like Traktor and Kontakt under the inMusic umbrella along with Plugin Alliance, iZotope, and Brainworx.

It’ll be nice to see the plugins port over to MPC.

I don’t see Kontakt/Komplete going anywhere as lots of big studios use that platform.

My concern is Maschine. Being a long time user, I doubt InMusic keeps something that competes with MPC

I really hate seeing all these bigger companies taking over the smaller ones. WTF.

If they manage things properly, that's one thing, but Inmusic doesn't have a good history. Look at all the brands they own: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InMusic_Brands

Plus there's the known beef between the owner Jack O'Donnell and Roger Linn.
