The drums are much like the famous drum loop by Little Feat "Fool Yourself", which has been used by ATCQ, Big Daddy Kane, Fugees, Mobb Deep, Onyx etc.
It could be a loop, or he played them. Perhaps look for the midi file.

hmm there doesnt seem to be any clean hits in the song mad...
anyhow, this is a very processed kit. experiment with various filters and envelope settings... its not difficult to achieve similar results that way. its just a lot of processing of filters and evelopes to my ears.
