JBL Flip Bluetooth Speaker

I have this JBL Flip Bluetooth Speaker and I'm wondering is it useful for producing? I know its not a real monitor and my question is probably dumb but I had to ask

I never used it but if that's all you have then that's all you have. If you have a decent pair of headphones I would go with that instead though.

Yes I have some nice headphones. Nevertheless, can you suggest me what specs should I look for if I want to buy a good set of monitors?

If you check out this thread you can see there was a similar question. There's some good recommendations. He eventually went with the Mackie MR5, but there's others too. I have the MR5's.
