@DJ Excellence - what an elegant intro! This is phenomenal! Dynamic, great sound selection. Arrangement adds to the emotion and movement as well. The strings bit during that little drop out....bruhhhh. This is masterful done.

@Iron Keys - that synth bass goes hard! I don't typically like janky drums, but the asymmetric feel this has fits the rest of the beat as a whole. I know you've been focusing more on composed over sampled beats, and that focus is showing. Some variety on the bass-line is the only thing I think that's missing.

@DJ Excellence I've really become a fan of your new stuff, this beat is fucking awesome, Ive said it a few times already, but leaving behind the Preemo sound is the best thing you have ever done in my humble opinion. Having to face you in a battle now, makes me think twice, that I have to come with something really good to have a hope of winning. A worthy battle that winner. When I have loaded my clip with some worthy beats you will see me start challenging you, right now I need to get some beats made for that, I'm up for the challenge and you give me some motivation to make some really dope shit.

@Iron Keys Not one of the best mixes Ive heard from you, most of the ingredients sound a bit dry IMO, really like the drum pattern, but its a bit dry mixwise.

My vote goes to @DJ Excellence on this one for the reasons above.

Thanks for the input. I like the mix, or the 'dry' aspect you speak of. Everything still feels glued for me, which is what I like. Technically, everything in that mix is wet. Probably a stylistic thing

conversely, and with respect, i found my counterpart's mix lacking --- balance of elements is fine/ realgood, but it's got a very (what I call) 'dustiness' to it, feels like the mix is bandpassed and in the background; I found I used to have that feeling with my old mixes, and hated it lol. Feels like it's missing lows and punch. I'd love this beat if things were pushed up front a lot more, particularly or even just the drums. Great sample n arrange otherwise!

Personally I think the balance, low end and punch really suits the emotion of the track and it really oozes emotion and feeling. Could maybe be a little "brighter" in the top end, but I think the mids and overall balance of the track are fine. As a complete package I think it does what it says on the tin,
