I don't watch much TV, but I saw on AMC they were showing Scarface, which surprised me because of the violence. I was sure they weren't going to show the shower chainsaw scene, but they did (somewhat edited). They even showed Tony shooting that asshole guy in the face.

But as usual, God forbid we hear the word "FUCK". I can watch a guy get sliced up with a chainsaw, blood all over the place, and some other dude in the middle of the street get his head blown off, but swear words are such a travesty. Will anyone think of the children!?!?

C'mon guys, kids see way worse online like real Mexican cartel videos and whatnot. I think they can handle a few bad words.

As someone who grew up watching classic movies, heavily censored on TBS Superstation, im of two minds in this.

Firstly, there are some movies, I had absolutely no right to see at 10 Years old. Now, they are great movies, and helped me to appreciate the world of “visual arts.” I think you can tell a good, visual, story without the gore/cussing/graphics of most movies….and that’s what it’s really about no?

That being said, I found an entire, new, level of appreciation of certain films AFTER seeing the unedited Versions.

As a vulgar, libertarian, hedonist, I don’t necessarily “believe” in censorship…but I do think it’s worth easing kids into the arts. Mostly because, I genuinely believe you need to have a level of maturity to appreciate and understand “vulgarity” in arts.
