Akai MPC X
That's always been my impression of it. I never got the Ren because I had Maschine at the time, but the X looks similar. It's a nice layout overall. If anyone here has an MPC X and is bored with it, just give it to me so I can give it a good home! -

Congrats! I tried out the MPC One and it was cool but I didn't realize from the pictures that the pads are not full size. It was fun using the touchscreen but I found it to be a bit hard to press certain items. But I would love to try the X with a bigger screen and workspace. It must be fun as hell. -

What's going on with the beat process in these videos?
I remember when I used to use Ableton and I ended up sort of doing the same thing where I would pencil in and then copy+paste, but then I found it to be too much of a routine. That's why I switched to an MPC so I could be more hands-on and focus on the music rather than the software. -
