Creating Samples To Use In Reason
I have reason, and I am using sound forge to create and edit samples. How do I know where to cut the sample so that it is on beat and flows with the song. For example I found a piano sample that I liked but I cant figure out how long the sample is supposed to be so that it lasts exactly 4bars... -

How long should samples traditionaly be? Where should you cut your samples? Do you cut them by bar lenght, time or what? Mine never seem to flow correctly or be on beat. Give me you guys suggestions. -

Whats up everybody, I am new to the hip hop production scene. I was wondering how exactly to make samples for hip hop music. Where do u get cool sounds, and when you do, how do u make it into your own. What are the techniques, and any advice you have for making hip hop samples.
