    Lessons For Up & Coming Producers

    It's an interesting point that, and I don't know the inner working of these companies, but don't they just work on converting the algorithm into a computer language rather than starting from scratch and trying to emulate that way? I guess that's just what would make sense to me, but newer...

    Has Anyone Ever Worked With A Knowen Artist Or Producer?

    Yeah, atm I'm hooking up with JayZ on his new (and as yet unannounced) return to hip hop. Lol, just kidding y'all, I'm far to underground (not to mention white and English) to work with him, y'know the Z (as I like to call him) says to me "Yo Boney, you got some dope stuff, you remind me of the...

    Matching accapellas to beats

    Easiest way to get a bpm value is just to put together a little loop and fiddle the speed of that 'til it fits your acapella, then put that into whatever beat you want the acapella going over

    Buzz

    After a bit of playing my considered opinion is: Not great, it needs a better sampler and a nicer tracker interface but it is fun to play with as a modular synth. I'm gunna keep an eye on the buzzle project to reprogram it, thats just gone into alpha phase so I'm keeping my hopes up

    What's the point of MUSIC?

    Music means too much for me to put a "point" behind it, I listen and make it because I love it, not really to express anything. Music can make me feel lots of thinks but most of all I love it just because it is music, it's got a really special quality which I don't think anything like...

    Professional Mastering

    The two key processes are equalisation and compression, so I generally run it (in sound forge) through paragraphic eq, multi-band compressor, a vst limiter running through a wrapper (anyone know a good free dx limiter btw), and if it needs it a second run through an equaliser just for a final...

    using loops and samples

    I do use samples straight once in a while, but only if they're really quick, otherwise I find you can get better results with chopping up the samples to suit what you're trying to get at, so yeah just using loops is OK in my book, but it's a lot more rewarding if you put a bit of effort into...

    Boney Bassmaster VSTi

    Cheers for the ideas spin, I'll defo be putting a screenshot in, tis a good idea. As for the installer I don't think it's really that necessary for a file so small, I'd probably think about it if I was making a pack, but for just one or two files it seems kinda overkill.

    why aren't there rapper producer groups/duos anymore?

    Hehe, I think at this point God pops up and says that the nasty A&R men don't want groups cause they have to sort out lots of people so it's more expensive. But I'm definitely a fan of the group feel to hip-hop, I think it definitely gives a lot more continuity.
