Yea I totally agree, sometimes you need to learn your tool and you do that by copying, no problem here at all. What are you using right now?
Trying to simplify life, got it down to Reason 6.5 for composing, mixing and mastering. Going to get an MPK61 to replace my Axiom and a Macbook and call it a day. Simple- thedreampolice

How to get a Publisher for your Beats
A publisher seems like an odd thing to look for at this stage. What are you trying to accomplish? and I agree about the producer thing, seems like the term has even lost meaning. Currently I am using the title "Sonic Manipulator" :)- thedreampolice

Pricing a beat
Depends, is this an established artist or a nobody? If they are established than YES. If the song sells less than 50k units you are probably ok on not getting clearance. If you are signing away rights I would still think about a lawyer.- thedreampolice

New MPC Ren software video
Well I am a big believer in using the tools you are given to make music. They (2k,60,3000) do sound very different but the workflow even on the 2K is So slooooooow compared to Maschine/REN that I personally am really getting over hardware in general. Pretty simple, the 3000 does not have 16bit ad/da and it was the last MPC designed by Roger Linn, so the 2x does have a totally different sound.- thedreampolice
