Here is the easy way.
Open you sample in adobe audition. Select the entire wave the copy it. Go file "new" the select 8Bit res. Now paste your sample into the new file and save.
Or get a VST effect, i had a VST (dont know its name) that would down sample to 8Bit.
Change up your tempo to.
If you usually work between 80 & 90 BPM then try say 90 to 100 BPM.
Do things you have never done before like reverse a kick.
Use pre-sets you think could never work with your genre. And tweek pre-sets.
Add effects like flanger to things like hi-hats.

Ok stupid question time ..
When I load a sample into fruity slicer it it asigns beat 4 to like pad 7 on my MPD. How do I asign beat 1 to pad 1 and beat 2 to pad 2 etc, etc. Sorry if this has been posted before, i did have a look. :)

im not sure what you meanbut if you right click on the FPC in the step sequencer and un-tick "cut itself" that might work .. hope that was some help man :)
