    Great comp, but not for your mic... I mean, I use this one mainly for drums because the gate is quick as fug and brings hella pressure on kicks, snares and basslines. For vocals I'd use something more subtle like a focusrite ( compounder in my case ).

    no, its a software utility to load and send samples to sp1200/sp12/EIII etc... the emu old skoolers. SD was a pc based utility unlike the others were for ancient macs.

    I was actually implying to the use of recycle...it does sample dumping...transmit and receive...just in case you like to spice up the samples...you know...wavelab, soundforge they do that too. So if you got like a kit od samples you can set up a batch process of vst dynamics and edit all stuff...

    Logic definitly, but it doesn't run vst's by itself, you need VST-AU adapter for that which isn't succesfull with all vst's or vsti's. If you can get Logic Pro 7 you hardly need to worry, exs24 makes and reads rex files, the plugs coming with Pro 7 are pretty decent and same goes for the fx...

    ^^^true, pre production, then it stops for them...they make their tracks on it, crap or not and send it to the mix/mastering engineer to clean up their mess. Reason 3 will have a mastering suite but that's still somewhat limited because it will only give you the option to use a limiter...
