    ha ha, I have owned two different MPD units and both I needed to hit with a freaking hammer to get anything out of them. Read up on the akai forums it is a very common complaint for these units. And a real drum should not be smashing his drums, that is bad technique.

    If you are running windows 7 64bit you will need the update also make sure you are using an admin account. You can also try to right click on arc and say run as admin

    No old does not equal suck, but an old crappy plugin is an old crappy plugin. That thing came out in 2000, just think how far plugins have come in 11 years. Also NOTHING can add a Neumann sound to an SM57 recording. if you believe that I have some land on the moon for sale!
