    Gating

Just to be clear a gate is a gain or level based effect, it does not do anything based on a frequency only the level of the input signal. Nor does it change the out put frequency. For example if you feed a gate 20k it will come out 20k

Lame, you claimed that you could use a parametric eq to make a gate and that gates cut out certain frequencies. Now you say sound=frequence lmao what a cop out. Second read the auto tune thread, I even said to ex that auto tune is a phase vocoder. Third gates are used all the time, for a high...

Think of a gate, like the cross fader on a DJ mixer. You can cut off sound and effect the volume over time. It can create some very cool effects.

One of my turntables is in the shop and I need to rant about terrible service!

ha ha Well the Stanton 120 has way more torq than any Technics, that being said there are more resources for repairing a 1200, so I may go that route in the future. But trust me the 120 is an amazing deck. As far as telling the guy to fuck off, they are literally the only place in town that...

One of my turntables is in the shop and I need to rant about terrible service!

Ok so at the beginning of June I brought my beloved Stanton 120.s Deck in as it was getting a bit wonky. One channel would cut out etc. I can replace it for $250 so I needed the cost to be below $175 for this repair to be worthwhile. But this is the deck that I made this record with...

    Got beat jacked AGAIN

yea man, well the good news is that I truly don't believe that someone willing to jack beats like that will ever get ahead. One thing that is nice about the hip-hop community at large is that we have a cool (although sometimes strange) strict set of ethics. And shit like that just doesn't fly.

honestly there is nothing to be done. Its just crazy...honestly if someone wants to sell my beats do it, just tell me and give me a cut!
