    People have been telling me about fruity loops since it was fruity loops, I was only using Reason back then, and I was put off by FL's interface, still am a little, but its features, and like you say, edison and just dragging and dropping chops is fucking amazing, so easy to get them on time too

    We have it so easy these days, its good because it allows us to get ideas onto canvas very quickly, and add effects in seconds and even a guy like me in my bedroom can make beats that sound pretty bloody decent.

    Personally Ive only recorded one rapper, Ive recorded reggae artists and singers. Every other rapper ive worked with has always done their own recording. I will mix the vocals to the tracks, but often times the rappers people sort that out themselves.

    I really loved it for the timestretching abilities, also used to make mixtapes on it, by getting instrumentals and putting different acapellas on them, they used to be pretty popular, but it felt like cheating hahahaha

    Logic and Pro Tools are pretty industry standard, I thought Cubase came next after those two. Reaper is growing in popularity too, its reasonably priced

    if something does what you want it to do, why not use it? DAW's are just like music, it can be pretty subjective whether a particular one suits your workflow or not. Each has its own ups and downs, its just a matter of finding which works best for you. Acid Pro was anoither pretty obscure one...
