    Well what are you going to be using it for? Also (basic explanation) an omni mic means it picks up the same abount of sound from any direction. The SM57 is an omni mic if you sing in to the side of it you will get the same sound as if you sing from the from but there willbe less "P'" and "S"...

    The price of a mic does not always make it better or worse. One of my favorite mics for hip hop vocals (and fav mic period) is the Sennheiser MD 421 its around $300 and it works great on so many things. Its one of my "go to" mics for recording drums and bass amps. check it out...

    For you windows uses, I just switched to a progam called diskkeepers for defraging and I was blown away at how much of a diffrence it makes. Made everything run faster.

    Check out Sampltude basic. I always burn with that software. Cheapest version is under $100 worth every penny.

    If you buy some digidesign hardware, like an mbox. Then it runs on XP but pro tools FREE only runs on 98/ME
