    Filtering Bass

    I cut all the highs and had to cut the mids so that the vocals and drums are all clear of the audio, but the bass just sounds muddy and it's hard to distinguish the separate sounds. Is there a way to make it sound cleaner?

    Bass

    Sampling and having no ear for hearing pitches to find out the keys of songs is the worst combination when you want to add a bass line to your tracks.     I've been trying to tweak the sound of the samples I use lately by putting phasers, choruses, flangers, and EQs. Just for the fun of it to see what kind of unique sounds I can get. Is there anything else that I could use to manipulate the sound of the sample?

    Are they cracking down on all sample users that didn't buy rights to use the sample (which is basically most beat makers)? I just got an email concerning this issue about my "Never Be" beat. The sample was from Chollo Rivera's "By Chollo" album.

    Hearing pitch

    Is there anyway/program that can tell you what key a sample is in for those without an ear for pitch? I hate having to ask people everytime when I want to make a baseline to a sampled beat which I'm trying to do now, but failing.
