I see these all the time but i'm not really sure what the kHz is. I never see it on my EQ's. Could anyone explain how to read this.

Who's your Fav. prod. and why?

I would have to go with timbaland. His snares are so crisp and clean. You gotta love the akward sounds he leaves out and than dosen't throw in until bout 30 seconds before the song goes off. Of course Just Blaze but I gotta go with the HeatMakers too. I dig they drum patterns.

Any one using the Yamaha rs 7000. I can't figure out this function.

I already know how to work the machine. I was just trying to find out how you resample with it. I can't seem to get it to work. Also, if you remember, it has two sample banks. One says phrase i think and the others say local. The local bank was suppose to keep your samples in memory if i'm not...

Any one using the Yamaha rs 7000. I can't figure out this function.

If so, I could use a tip on the resampling function. When I try to get it to resample it dosen't. I'm usually don't even need to use the instruction manual but I even referred to that and couldn't figure it out. Also how do you save your local samples? From my understanding after reading the...

    Compression

I read the article but what im still not comprehending is what you do you base your threshold on. Is that a personal preference you make up and try to set it as low as you can without squasing the signal?

Tutorial: Kanye West Mickey Mouse effect

You can also take that sample and use time stretch to snag the tempo of the original sample if you like that particular BPM while getting the hi pitched sound your looking for. I usually just find the tempo of the sample im using, up the pitch, than use my time stretch and get that song back to...

    Compression

OK, I know the whole spill about threshold, ratio, attack, and release when it comes to compressors but what i'm searching for is why. For example, you can usually record vocals starting at about -10db threshold and 2:1 ratio but why -10 and why 2:1. On what grounds do you know where to start...

    Cover your tracks

How do yall cats go about making your cats unrecordable when distributing promotional beat discs. I know i'm not about to copyright every single track I have right now so before I make a CD for cats to hear, I use a female or myself to promote the production name, artists and albums etc under...

Any one has the Yamaha RS 7000?

Am I the only person on the planet with the Yamaha RS 7000 or is it that no one knows how to work everything on it either?

    Bars and Beats

I understand what you are saying man. Without trying to make everything so technical, yes the typical two snares ( boom bap, boom boom bap) is a bar.

Any one has the Yamaha RS 7000?

If so, I am trying to find out how to work the local sample function. To my belief your supposed to be able to save them there and pull them up automatically like as if they were just another kit in the stored sound bank. Also i can't seem to resample. How can i get that done.

    Monitoring / Mixing

Thanks for the input but I thought that to get a good mix your monitors should be atleast 5 feet apart. Putting them that close, like 3 feet, would not give you a wide enough stereo spread. Correct?

    Monitoring / Mixing

With my monitors, I usually just have them standing straight up. Does anyone achieve a better mix when they are laying sideways. If so, which have you found to be better, the woofers toward the middle or the tweets toward the middle? Also, I know the listener and speakers must be an equal...

    Wave Lab

If your talking about the effects, than yes I know how to use them. I am trying to figure out how to apply them using Wave Lab though. I don't know that program too well. I don't know it at all actually. It was given to me by a friend who never used it because he has so many plug-ins for Pro...
