    my template: snare is quantisized, but if possible use two different sounding hits of the same snare hi hat varies in loudness plus is delayed for some milliseconds. subtle. kick is quantisized on the 1/8th. the 1/16th's swing according to tempo and/or sample.

    i got a powerbook 17" and produce everthing on it with cubase and tons of plugins. never ran in cpu-problems. your setup has 2 gigs ram, which is good, very good. you never can get enough ram...

    The Loudness of the Master

    not really. i mean, the exported file doesn't "know" or care if the previous material was 24 bit or 16 bit. nonetheless, the material has finer loudness steps for mastering.

    ...to be the smartass here: if you're exporting a VSTi, be aware that it exports only the section between the locators!

    ...looks a lot like logic now, ha! does anybody know, if there's eventually a native sidechain-compress function like in logic pro? it's great for bass-ducking, gives you some frequency-space for the kick, if you use it right.

    ...i signed up, just because i wanted to submit some snares and kicks in the beat this competion... rules says i have to post an amount of 50 before i can compete, clever... that said, i swear (with my right hand on my mpc...) i will post no bullshit just to reach the post-limit. nuff...
