I never used a mac before. But I've read great stuff about them. And I hear the older ones work almost as well as the new. I've passed up a couple deals but now I think I 'm ready to get my feet wet.

I've found a 12" 800 MHz iBook G4 at a repair shop for $150.oo .

now... experience mac users, will I be able to run Ableton Live, cool edit and internet without problems.

$150s a steal, but that may not be the best spec'd machine for music production?.....You typically want waaaay more ram than that. Im sure you can find a copy of Live for it though. Lives a pretty CPU friendly program actually, plus if it gets bad you can always freeze the tracks that arent in use if you get a hold of a new enough version. You still gotta make sure that your OS supports the software that your plannin on using too though.

$150? I would have bought it on the spot. It being a mac is going to give you a little extra juice, if it was a Laptop built for windows use it would be another story.

You can easily run Reason 3 on it.
