24 bit samples?!How to get them to play in pc w/ xp

I bought an m audio sample cd for rock drums. But its 24 bit and won't play in my pc or w/ windows media player or through my MOTU. Anyway to convert the files to 16 bit or to get them to work?

u need a sound card that supports 24 bit sound

... I thought every soundcard played 24 bit sound...lol.

Maybe they saved it as a data cd. I know I received a live sound kit that was a data cd.

try openin them in adobe audition or any other sound editor and resample them back to 16.

The mediaplkayer and those kinds of programs can't play 24bit. You need to insert it into a music program. Cubase, FL or whatever. Those programs are made to deal with those formats.

Thanks Andreas, I open the loops with Recycle or can edit them in Sound Forge to whoever else has this problem. Sucks though, cause I wanted 1 shot acoustic drum hits and they're all loops.
